USA: in the Name of Freedom

1 x 52'

Synopsis

Ever since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, freedom has been the basic value that binds this young nation together.
But does Freedom include all rights ? In the name of freedom of expression should Nazis be able to demonstrate in a Jewish neighborhood where those who escaped the German concentration camps live ? In the name of religious freedom, should sects be able to flourish and become a threat to young people ? Should access to the Welfare State be given up in the name of individual freedom ? Should citizens be allowed to have as many arms as they please in the name of the right to carry arms according to the cherished 2nd Amendement ?
Americans readily answer « yes » to each of these questions. Why ?
From the state of Florida to California, passing through Chicago, New York and Washington D.C., this film takes us into an America that is disconcerting, sometimes shocking but always willing to do whatever gives its citizens greater freedom.
