In France, 80% of all parents have raised their hand to their child at one time or another! The figure is huge and obviously covers a wide variety of different scenarios, of different realities. It can range from the occasional soft little "pat" on the rear end ... all the way to the slap across the face given by an exasperated and exhausted mother who regrets her actions later.
