There are 28 households, made up of single people, couples with children and young retirees, who come from all over France and have settled in Pontgouin, a declining rural village in Eure-et-Loir.
On a plot of more than four hectares, they have built eco-friendly, near-passive houses heated without fossil fuels. They have planted a great many fruit trees and set up shared vegetable gardens.
Committed to reducing their ecological footprint and defending a fair and sustainable society, they want to share a simple daily life that is open to all, and put into practice a resilient, mutually supportive way of life that contributes to the vitality and self-reliance of the local area.
They love to experiment and look for solutions to live together differently. Their experiences take them off the beaten track. Little by little, they are cutting their own furrow, scattering their seeds and building alongside local stakeholders.
